La langue officielle est le tha\u00ef et la monnaie le baht. C\u2019est une monarchie constitutionnelle depuis 1932 dans laquelle le roi est officiellement le chef de l&rsquo;\u00c9tat, chef des Forces arm\u00e9es, partisan de la religion bouddhiste et d\u00e9fenseur de toutes les confessions.<\/p><p>Le pays est class\u00e9 <abbr class=\"abbr\" title=\"Cinquante et uni\u00e8me\">51<sup>e<\/sup><\/abbr>\u00a0pays par ordre de superficie (514\u00a0000\u00a0<abbr class=\"abbr\" title=\"kilom\u00e8tre carr\u00e9\">km<sup>2<\/sup><\/abbr>) et <abbr class=\"abbr\" title=\"Vingt et uni\u00e8me\">21<sup>e<\/sup><\/abbr> pays le plus peupl\u00e9 du monde avec 68\u00a0299\u00a0099\u00a0habitants en <time class=\"nowrap\" datetime=\"2017-01\" data-sort-value=\"2017-01\">janvier 2017.\u00a0<\/time> Environ 75\u00a0% de la population sont d&rsquo;ethnie tha\u00efe, 14\u00a0% sont des Chinois, et 3\u00a0% sont Malais, le reste \u00e9tant compos\u00e9 de groupes minoritaires\u00a0: les M\u00f4ns, les Khmers et les diverses tribus des collines.
